The Engineering Project Manager-Transportation works under the general direction of the City Engineer, who leads the engineering division of the City of Bremerton’s Public Works & Utilities Department. Engineering manages comprehensive planning, design, and construction of City infrastructure; traffic engineering; development project review and permitting; provides engineering services to all City departments; obtains grant and low interest loan funding from Federal and State sources; and assists in regional transportation coordination. Engineering personnel, supplies and services costs are allocated and budgeted in one cost center within the General Fund. The $3.5 million budget for engineering consists of 24.69 FTEs. Total recoverable charges for services and other work performed by engineering staff for capital projects and utilities operations and maintenance total $1.8 million.
The Engineering Project Manager–Transportation has multiple responsibilities to support Transportation Engineering. Primary duties will include performing project and construction management to ensure the delivery of quality construction of transportation capital projects. Additional duties may include traffic analysis, transportation planning support, grant application support and traffic operations assessments. Depending on the assignment, the project manager may supervise the work of technical staff.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or other related field and 5 years of full-time experience as a licensed Professional Engineer. Professional Engineering license in the State of Washington. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the applicant with knowledge, skills and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will be considered.
