DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF PARKING II
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assists in managing and directing the Parking Department; assumes all duties of the Commissioner in the Commissioner's absence; does related work as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Thorough knowledge of principles and practices in the field of transportation engineering, including highway planning and traffic control methods; good knowledge of  engineering principles; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions; ability to supervise the work of others; initiative and resourcefulness in developing highway plans and traffic control systems, using a sophisticated modern automated traffic system to solve both
