The Paper Science and Chemical Engineering department houses two majors: Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering, both accredited by ABET. The department is in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The College supports premier undergraduate natural resource programs with disciplines in Fisheries and Water Resources, Forestry, Environment and Society, Soil and Waste Resources, Wildlife Ecology, and the Department of Paper Science and Chemical Engineering. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is a four-year comprehensive university. Stevens Point, a pleasant college community with a population of just over 25,000, is midway between Milwaukee and Minneapolis near the state's center. The area offers various cultural, shopping, and outdoor recreational opportunities.
The College of Natural Resources (CNR) has a full-time (12-month), non-tenure track teaching (100%) position available in the Department of Paper Science and Chemical Engineering. The position’s primary responsibilities will be to develop and teach an online, 15-credit graduate-level certificate in Process Control Engineering (6-9 credits per semester) and to provide undergraduate instruction (0-6 credits per semester) in chemical/process engineering courses (such as fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, etc.). Other duties may include undergraduate advising and contributing to college and university governance. Incumbents may perform professional outreach and engagement in process control to complement teaching responsibilities. Experience in and desire to work with diverse populations of learners and stakeholders is required.
REQUIRED:
M.S. (or equivalent training) in controls engineering
Two years of experience with industrial controls engineering
Experience with providing training related to process control systems in an industrial environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
PREFERRED:
Ph.D. (or equivalent training) in controls engineering
Three years of experience in control systems engineering
Experience with teaching engineering topics in a classroom environment Strong commitment to student success
