WVU Orthopaedics is committed to advancing research surrounding orthopaedics and orthopaedic surgery. The Research Assistant Professor position will focus on the development of advanced biomaterials that reduce musculoskeletal infections and/or develop nanomaterials. The Research Assistant Professor will perform bench research on the synthesis and testing of advanced biomaterials, write grant proposals, mentor students, etc. Competitive salary and benefits will be provided.

All applicants should have attained a doctoral degree (MD, PhD or MD/PhD); some postdoctoral research experience is preferred; experience in grant writing is preferred but not required; experience in mentoring students is preferred; strong work ethic and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
