The Division of Genetics and Metabolism is recruiting an exceptional Clinical Geneticist to join our growing team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, within the Department of Pediatrics. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience.
The Department of Pediatrics is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The department promotes and enhances the health of children through outstanding clinical care, exemplary education of pediatric trainees, performance of cutting-edge research, and vigorous advocacy. Our faculty enjoy a robust infrastructure of services as well as the opportunity to contribute to our world-class research portfolio - 9th in the nation in National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding according to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research 2022 rankings.
Responsibilities include:
Provide metabolic and general genetics pediatric patient care staffing clinics at the Waisman Center and metabolic call coverage at UW Health Kids-American Family Children's Hospital.
Provide clinical teaching in biochemical genetics which could include chart reviews or didactic teaching to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.
Appointments on the CHS Track will include: independent research/scholarly research in genetic basis of inherited disorders activities that promote the health and development of children.
MD, DO, or equivalent is required.
Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required.
Completion of a Medical Biochemical Genetics fellowship program is preferred but not required.
Interest in academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential.
Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin medical licensure.
Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin medical licensure.
Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges.
