MTT is seeking an exceptional Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible for various manufacturing projects beginning with concept development and proceeding through analysis, mechanical design, tooling, machine selection, fabrication, and testing, leading to the development of prototypes and deployed prototype systems. The Manufacturing Engineer will provide the creative design talents and practical hands-on know-how that's needed to bring mechanical prototypes and high-performance products to life.
Job Responsibilities
Understanding and development of MTT’s fabrication workflow and management
Tool and fixturing design using SolidWorks and working to make them either internally or with local sources
Help configure, refine, maintain, and run various manufacturing equipment, including CNC and manual machining
Assessing “make” versus “buy” decisions and managing approved suppliers as needed
Recommending the most appropriate fabrication methods for specified requirements and production quantities
Estimating cost, cycle times, schedule, and management of various projects
Working comfortably in an R&D environment that transitions into a Production environment.
Managing technical risk associated with various projects
Wearing multiple hats and assisting as needed to help on other projects
Required Skills
Working knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication/machining techniques, mechanical assembly, blue-print reading, and inspection
Fixture or tooling design in SolidWorks (or similar) CAD systems
Demonstrated team-building and interpersonal relationships skills
Timely and organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ethical conduct with high regard for confidential information
Proficient with computers and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills & Work Experience
Mechanical Engineering degree (from an accredited institution)
Prior production management and/or manufacturing engineering work experience (5+ years) in a manufacturing environment
Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling/tracking software
Experience in CNC programming with 5-axis programming
Knowledge of Six Sigma and ISO process controls
GD&T knowledge
