The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the American University of Beirut (AUB) invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions as part of the expansion plans of the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering & Architecture (MSFEA).
Applicants from all research areas related to industrial engineering and engineering management will be considered. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in industrial engineering or a closely-related field with at least one degree in engineering by the date of appointment. Preferred research areas include human factors engineering, project management, data science, healthcare, manufacturing systems, sustainable operations, and the circular economy. Candidates with teaching experience, industrial or post-doctoral appointments, and a record of grant funding and scholarly publications are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants interested in visiting positions are also encouraged. Applications should include a letter of interest, statements of teaching and research interests, a CV, and the names and contact details of at least three references. The Department is home to more than 7 faculty, 70 master’s students, and 220 undergraduate students and is part of MSFEA, a flagship engineering, architecture, and design faculty of the AUB that attracts the most highly sought students from Lebanon and the region. Founded in 1866, the AUB bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education. A teaching-centered research university that is ranked among the top 250 universities in the QS World University Rankings, AUB has approximately 700 full-time faculty members and 8000 students from more than 60 countries. The student body is 50 percent female, and the language of instruction is English.
