Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience in technical support.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional years (3+) of full-time technical support experience. Experience with administration of Linux systems. Experience with administration of Windows servers and workstations. Experience with administration of Mac Computers. Experience with MySQL databases. Experience with python or MATLAB. Demonstrated competency to work in most phases of systems analysis and programming experience with web design.
Brief Description of Duties: The Senior Programmer/Analyst will provide technical or administrative support to research and clinical activities in the department by developing computer, database and web applications and participating in systems analysis and maintenance. The incumbent will create programming to provide technical or administrative support to the project: maintain and modify programs; review and analyze project specifications in writing programming code; test, document, and maintain operator instruction for programs; and monitor the operation of programs and respond to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding. They should possess the ability to recommend hardware and software applications required for the project. The successful incumbent must be able to provide guidance or instruction to lower level programmers/analysts.
System administration of Linux and Windows servers, and Mac computers. Ensuring that all systems are operational and data backup, integrity, and security on all systems are maintained. Maintenance and upgrade of software and hardware on high-end servers and end-user computers. Management of user and group accounts on all systems.
Programming projects to add new systems\features to and enhance the IT infrastructure of CUBIT and the Department of Psychiatry.
Managing and maintaining the parallel computing infrastructure (SLURM, Sun Grid Engine, and MATLAB Distributed Computing Servers).
Providing technical support to lab end-users and troubleshooting problems end-users might have with Python, MATLAB or the parallel computing infrastructure.
Creation and administration of MySQL Database including database backup and recovery. Creation and administration of web based interfaces for the database.
Purchases, inventories, and surpluses computers and accessories.
Other duties as assigned.
