The Department of Mechanical, Industrial & Aerospace Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position in Industrial Engineering with research interests that include Data Analytics in Healthcare Engineering. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. This hiring is part of a cluster of healthcare-related positions created across the University to advance research and education in areas of Healthy Living and Healthy Aging linked through the PERFORM Research Centre. The Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering has 56 faculty members active in various areas of mechanical, industrial and aerospace engineering and its strength has grown in recent years. The Department is dedicated to multidisciplinary research and training of undergraduate and graduate students and offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering, and PhD programs in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. The PERFORM Centre is a unique research facility devoted to prevention research through lifestyle intervention and impact assessment. It houses an athletic therapy clinic, cardio-pulmonary suite, clinical analysis suite, conditioning floor, functional assessment lab, imaging suite, nutrition suite, and sleep laboratory all under one roof. Home to 51 research members and specialists in health and disease prevention who play an important role in cultivating interdisciplinary and collaborative research that create links between a variety of traditional and non-traditional disciplines in an effort to improve health across the population, the PERFORM Centre offers numerous and varied opportunities for research collaboration and training in a variety of settings and discipline. Applicants must possess Bachelors and PhD degrees in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to the supervision of MASc and PhD students, and to excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She/he will conduct independent scholarly research, attract strong external funding and demonstrate industrial application of their research activities. Eligibility for certification as a Professional Engineer in Quebec or in another Canadian province is essential. The language of instruction at Concordia is English; however, knowledge of French is an asset.
