The Montgomery County Engineer's Office (MCEO) located in Dayton, Ohio is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating 541 bridges and 315 miles of county roads. MCEO is seeking a Bridge Engineer 2 to focus on the design and development of in-house bridge projects. Opportunities to assist with project management and further develop bridge replacement/rehabilitation and maintenance programs are available.

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred
Ohio PE or the ability to obtain within one year desired
3 or more years of bridge experience, with demonstrated ability to design and prepare structural plans and specifications. Experience should include design of precast culverts and single and multi-span bridges (concrete box, I-beams and steel beams). Broad design experience with abutments, piers, foundations, and associated roadway components preferred.
Basic bridge and culvert hydraulic analysis experience desired
Understanding of bridge maintenance activities (inspection, load rating, in-house repairs)
Desire to coach and develop junior and non-structural staff
Strong communication skills and experience relating to peers, consultants, contractors and the public
Self-motivated individual who seeks and accepts responsibility
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation required
Valid State of Ohio Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months
