The Marine division is seeking an Electrical/Controls Engineer who is experienced with proposal responses, creating system designs and schematics, PLC programming, intuitive user interfaces and flexible system product designs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to customer proposals which include innovative technical concepts, costing and schedule to successfully deliver the project
Strong organizational and communications skills.
Must be self-motivated, detailed oriented, and willing to learn.
Develop hardware, programing, simulation, test, and debug of systems
Experience working within a very technical engineering driven and project based organization
Development of electrical/control designs and implementation tasks:
Specification and Reviews
Create technical specifications for electrical equipment
Integrated system design, including networks/protocols
Control cabinet designs
Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and wire run list
PLC programming (Allen Bradley)
HMI programming (Allen Bradley)
VSD programming and commissioning (ABB, Allen Bradley)
Knowledge of standard system components (COTS)
Create design documentation and system documentation
Creation of test plans, integration and acceptance plans
Onsite customer acceptance execution
Develop well documented, maintainable code in the excepted format
Support hardware qualification at testing facility
Support internal and external technical design reviews
Onsite integration and commissioning
Providing technical support for Field Service and customers
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work is primarily located in an office environment co-located with our manufacturing facility. Work experience will include up to 25% directed hands-on experience with the manufacturing process. Production areas to include are: Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Fabrication, Machining, and Assembly.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Employee is occasionally required to stand or walk and must be able to lift 25 pounds or more. Must be able to endure long periods of sitting at a desk.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with limited travel expected based on project.
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
BS Electrical Engineering or BS in related field
5+ years' controls experience, with emphasis placed on relevant and applicable project history
Motor Drive selection and configuration
AutoCAD electrical experience or similar
Experience with design of shipboard control systems.
Experience with EMI design considerations and qualification testing
