Private Engineering Services Intern
Village of Lombard
The engineering intern assists the staff of the Private Engineering Services Division in the Department of Community Development. The intern is responsible primarily for site inspections and documenting observations but also assists in drafting, surveying, reviewing/marking plans, maintaining files and handling other projects as assigned.

Knowledge of applicable municipal codes, federal and state requirements, as well as standard construction practices. Ability to use personal computers and associated applications including spreadsheets, word processing, AutoCAD and databases. Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications. Respond tactfully to requests and inquiries from the general public. Speak and relate ideas to engineering staff. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include:
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
Possess a valid driver’s license.
