This position will be responsible for overseeing, directing and managing all Fiber Processing sales in North America for ESCO, including independent agents selling on behalf of ESCO.
The Fiber Processing District Manager (DM) is responsible for the strategic management and development of the sales efforts across North America. ESCO’s Fiber Processing DM acts as a key member of the product team optimizing existing products and identifying new product development activities; has full responsibility for optimizing ESCO’s competitive position within the region by developing strong customer alliances and highly effective distribution channels; responsible for all sales activities for the purpose of achieving or surpassing sales growth targets, developing new accounts, building strong customer relationships, and establishing ESCO as a “value added” leader in the market place. The DM will call on assigned accounts as well as search out new business to sell products in the ESCO pipeline through regular on site visits; provide ongoing, profitable sales growth consistent with current forecasts by establishing and maintaining external customer relationships as assigned; and demonstrate knowledge of the application and operation of ESCO products.
Development and ownership of a regional strategic plan within the fiber processing markets; lead execution of the plan; attain or exceed plan objectives
Train dealers, agents and customers on the value, use and maintenance of ESCO products
Understand and contribute to the growth objectives of the Products Division by supporting the efforts of the sales and sales support team
Specify target accounts through call load mechanism; ascertain potential sales volume and forecast annual ESCO volume on each account
Help develop sales campaigns and plans to develop target accounts
Develop and recommend new product ideas or improvements of present products to meet needs in market place; identify and understand market trends that will affect call load, distribution and planning process
Evaluate distribution alternatives to expand business
Sell by direct contact to established accounts and to new customers; primary solicitation role is face-to-face personal contact; expectation is 80% of time is field time with customers
Obtain inquiry, report to Sales Management and Optimization Teams the requirements to obtain an order; review quotation with inside sales account representative and/or sales management if necessary prior to quoting customer; provide prompt quote to customer; following quote, coordinate further follow-up selling action
Continually upgrade current distribution and develop new customers; search for and secure new prospects or develop new potential in established accounts on a planned and regular basis
Responsible for negotiable situations; reporting facts in detail and making recommendations for course of action
Identify, manage, and develop key strategic sales agents to sell ESCO Fiber Processing products across NA
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or other related field required
Five+ years related outside direct sales experience selling to the Fiber Processing market (pulp and paper, lumber, or other wood markets) required
Must have an insurable driving record
Must be willing and able to travel (up to 80%) and stay overnight
Successful candidate will live in the Southeast US or be willing to relocate there
Prior ESCO knowledge of product, market and customer base strongly preferred
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
