Starting Salary up to $14,526/Mo. ($174,316/Yr.) + a Cash Allowance of $600/Mo.* (Salary is negotiable commensurate with experience, salary history, and requirements.)

The Ideal Candidate
For this opportunity, the ideal candidate is a creative and innovative thinker, excited by the prospect of change and the challenge of managing a large variety of complex projects. The individual selected will possess the following competencies, skills, and abilities:
Experience with principles of project budgeting, financial management, and revenue generation
An understanding of the current issues related to California governmental transportation
Extensive knowledge of the engineering and maintenance of large-scale public works projects, including state and federal laws relating to the engineering, surveying, drafting, and right-of-way requirements of public works projects
Demonstrated experience developing creative and alternative solutions to administrative, management, and fiscal challenges
Considerable independent judgment and discretion in staff supervision and delegated administration and management including the prioritization and coordination of Department mandates, goals, and objectives
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to effectively lead teams and collaborate with multiple agencies and the public.
Qualifications for this position normally include, possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer issued by the State of California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors is required. Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.
Extensive professional experience which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities stated herein. Normally, five years of full-time, professional engineering experience, including at least two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity, would provide such opportunity.
