The Richmond District is seeking a multi-talented individual to serve as the Residency Administrator Assistant for the Chesterfield Residency. The selected applicant will assist the Residency Administrator in ensuring the coordination, integration and management of VDOT resources which impact the Residency program. May serve as the primary contact/liaison for local governments on activities that impact the Chesterfield Residency geographical region. Will assist in building and maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders and district staff; communicate with stakeholders to provide appropriate and authoritative information about business plans and actions; represent VDOT District or Residency perspective and business needs to committees, groups, and public forums. Lead the Residency Team to deliver programs and ensure customers are provided quality and professional services. Aid in developing the Six-Year-Plan priorities and strategies. Assist in the Maintenance and Operations Program Delivery; administer maintenance budgets and projects effectively to meet Dashboard targets; monitor operations and plans for environmental compliance on projects and activities; and manage resources to accomplish goals. The position will also develop and implement Residency construction projects such as turn lanes, drainage improvements, etc.; prepare contract assemblies and sketches for limited scope projects; manage and coordinate preliminary engineering activities ensuring project development from inception through completion; and assist in the coordination of Locality Transportation Program. Monitor and assist local governments with the delivery of projects from preliminary engineering through construction. Coordinate with VDOT staff on complex land development issues. Lead, promote, and enhance the safety program. Ensure all employees are properly trained to carry out emergency response duties.
