Matrix Design Group, Inc., an employee-owned planning, engineering and environmental consulting firm is actively searching for mid-level Project Engineers to join our Development Services Group in our Colorado Springs office. We are looking for someone with a strong technical ability and background in land development. Design land development projects for residential, commercial and municipal development.
Prepare and process construction plans for approval.
Prepare detailed grading, roadway, water, and sewer plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Complete hydrology and hydraulic analysis, drainage reports, and storm drain design.
Prepare supporting calculations, construction specs, and permitting in various jurisdictions.
Support construction efforts with construction bid review and periodic construction field inspection. Work within defined scope, schedule and budget parameters.
Communicate as appropriate to director of development services and project team concerning questions, concerns, progress and results.
Coordinate with other disciplines and locations as necessary.
Assist with proposals and client management as necessary.
Perform business development activities through maintenance of positive client relationships.
BS degree in Civil Engineering required
Colorado PE preferred (if PE is not from Colorado, ability to obtain CO PE within one year).
6-8 years of practical (not academic) experience with an emphasis in development services.
Experience writing drainage reports and performing utility design in Civil 3D required.
Ability to take direction and work independently.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Strong technical writing skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in the following traffic engineering software a plus: Synchro, HCS, RODEL.
