The City of Thomasville, GA, located in southwest Georgia approximately 35 miles from Tallahassee, Florida, is looking for an Asst. Utility Engineer to assist with all aspects of the city’s civil engineering functions. This position assists the City Engineer with providing management and leadership for the Engineering Department. Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields while working closely with the City Engineer and other staff members in the design and construction management of a wide range of municipal projects. This position will be responsible for a major project and multiple projects of moderate scope with complex features. Will design new techniques and/or improve processes related to GIS, work orders and project delivery; will assist upper level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor; will supervise assigned staff and consultants and will represent the City of Thomasville in communications pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
Applicants should be a graduate from an accredited Engineering school. A Master’s degree is preferred. Should possess at least eight years of progressive engineering and administrative experience in Municipal Engineering or closely related work and should be registered as a Professional Engineer (Civil) in the State of Georgia or able to obtain the same within six months.
Closing date is May 5th. Salary range is $63,200 – 94,700/yr based on qualifications and experience.
