Prepares and supervises the preparation of design calculations and reports; oversees preparation of drawings for projects and assignments of varying complexity and scope in accordance with standards (i.e., AASHTO, DOTs, and TAs) and department procedures.
Supervises the development of design concepts and reports;
Prepares comprehensive engineering reports, calculations, specifications and drawings for structural (bridge and other transportation structures) design, repair and rehabilitation projects.
Structural consulting and design of platforms, enclosures, scaffolds, jacking, various temporary works and other related structures for use on bridge repair projects.
Structural design for structures such as bridges, viaducts, dams, locks and tunnels;
Leads construction administration and oversight on designated projects
Participates in a key technical role in local (PA, NY, NJ, CT, MA, WV) bridge projects, as well as major bridge projects within the United States.
Reviews / checks design calculations and reports;
Reviews project drawings for compliance with applicable codes and department standards;
Assures the timely delivery of quality work products and services;
Work with Clients such as PA & NY DOT, PA & NY State Thruway Authority, PA/NY Power Authority and various counties throughout PA & NY; and design/build contractors.
Familiarity with Bridge Load Rating
Provides guidance and mentoring to junior staff.

Desired Skills and Experience:
OSHA Scaffold Training
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) with an emphasis on structural engineering required from an engineering program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc (EAC/ABET).
Must have at least 5+ years of structural design experience in bridges and specialty structures.
Professional Engineering License preferred.
NCEES Records Certification preferred.
Requires advanced knowledge of Structural design and analysis software, such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit, RAM elements and RAM structural system.
