Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officers are responsible for managing the construction and maintenance of the Navy's shore facilities.
Navy Reserve CEC officers may be assigned to manage the construction on diverse facilities throughout the world such as schools, streets, parks, factories, hospitals, research centers, airports, harbors, radio stations and utility systems.

Candidates seeking a position in the Civil Engineering Corps must have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in the field of civil, mechanical or electrical engineering. Candidates must also be U.S. citizens and willing to serve worldwide.
