Richmond District is seeking detailed oriented individual to independently coordinate, schedule and inspect all phases of routine/complex traffic asset (signals, ITS devices, signing, sign structures, striping, guardrail and etc.) construction projects for Central Region Operations. The position will ensure construction activities are performed in accordance to contracts, plans and applicable documents to include environmental, Erosion & Settlement Controls, safety, traffic controls, EEO/DBE guidelines and regulations/permits; oversee and perform materials testing to ensure project is constructed to the designed quality standards; and ensure monthly pay items are processed for the contractor. You will ensure work zones are properly established/maintained and ensure contractor performance is in compliance with safety practices; monitor project schedule and review/maintain project budgets; and manage project public relations, respond to public concerns, and communicate with VDOT support staff and contractors.
