Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking an Office Technician to join one of our three Michigan office teams in Lansing, Nov and/or Traverse City.
Review Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) and make corrections as necessary, prepare contract modifications and process bi-weekly pay estimates to contractors
Review materials certifications and track insufficient materials including appropriate follow-up before payment is made to the contractor
Review project payrolls and conduct wage rate interviews. Report any deficiencies to the appropriate parties
Establish and maintain an e-construction project filing system in ProjectWise
Close-out the projects in a timely manner and within required timeframes
Review project records for compliance with MDOT / FHWA / Local Agency policies and procedures and general compliance with the plans and specifications
Track contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs) and other similar documents
Attend and assist in meetings including Progress Meetings with the contractor and client
Assist in required project reporting including monthly construction reports, etc.
Inspect projects as necessary to verify quantity and quality of work completed
Skills / Qualifications
5-12 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection in field and office assignments on transportation construction projects including 2 years’ minimum experience as an Office Technician
Required Certifications and Training:
MDOT FieldManager Training
MDOT Computerized Office Technician Certification
MDOT Office Technician Exam (Recertification)
MDOT Prevailing Wage Training
Experience Using AASHTOware / FieldManager Software
Experience with e-construction project filing system in ProjectWise
Must pass drug test, entrance physical and background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Experience performing Office Technician duties on Michigan DOT projects
Experience serving as an Inspector on Michigan DOT projects
Working outside in various, inclement weather conditions, uneven terrain as necessary
Office / Field work with computer
