Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a GIS Technician to join our team in Oakland, CA.
Key Responsibilities •Operate computer systems and peripheral equipment •Serve in a lead worker capacity providing work direction and training to lower level technician staff •Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with project priorities and objectives •Ensure adherence to cost controls as directed by supervisor •Overtime and overnight stays may be required •Limited travel necessary
Skills / Qualifications •Bachelor's degree or combination of technical education, PDH's, licensure, and certification •5 to 12 years of industry experience •GIS Certificate •The following computer / software skills needed at a high level: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Access, MS Office Suite, Python programming, Adobe Illustrator, GINT, Grapher, Surfer, and Microstation •In-depth knowledge and understanding of project focus •Ability to work with minimal supervision •Leadership and interpersonal skills •Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record •Must pass Health and Safety Training and Defensive Driving Courses upon hire
Physical Demands •Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 15 pounds •Must complete employment physical demonstrating ability to meet job requirements, including the ability to wear a respirator, as required •Completion of annual or bi-annual employment physical, as required
