We are currently seeking a well-qualified Structural Engineer interested in joining our team as a member of our growing Structural Design team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design structures including walls, towers, foundations, roads, etc. using governing codes, standards, engineering formulae, skills and experience
Perform analysis of existing structures
Remain well informed as to law and code changes
Maintain professional certifications
Coordinate project specifications with client(s) and component suppliers
Develop or improve standards and details
Provide technical guidance to staff of other departments to achieve design goals
Provide field support during installation and design including on-site design, technical support and construction management
Provide structural engineering cost estimates
Create proposals for structural projects
Provide project management for projects that are primarily structural in nature
Coordinate all work with CAD Technicians, Planners, Project Engineers, and firm Management as required
Review proposed plans, specifications and details for code compliance and feasibility
Perform schematic and conceptual layouts of building sites
Perform code research as required
Assume the lead engineer’s role on assigned projects
Attend and participate in client meetings
Perform field activities such as observation and recording of existing field conditions
Organize, draft and coordinate technical documents
Qualified Candidates Will Possess The Following:
Experience with existing building analysis and design.
Expertise and knowledge of engineering related methods and principles.
Familiarity with steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and other applicable materials.
Ability to understand building codes and construction specifications.
Stress management and time management skills.
High-level proficiency in computer software program related activities.
Self-motivated, hardworking, highly ethical, and dependable employee.
Possess excellent rapport with management and co-workers, positive can-do attitude, excellent customer service, marketing and people skills, as well as excellent command of verbal and written communications.
Have the ability to handle a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, organized, multi-tasking and good follow-through skills.
Education, Experience, Qualifications:
Licensed SE or PE in the State of Washington.
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field from an accredited college.
Minimum 5 years experience in a structural engineering role with increasing responsibility.
