What we are looking for: This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of the team that will be starting up a new manufacturing facility in China. When required, this position will organize and lead cross-functional teams to develop corrective actions utilizing 8-D, or similar formats, as well as assembling onsite sort operations at our customer locations in China. As we develop the manufacturing site in China, this position will work closely with Purchasing for the development and evaluation of supplier services, including issue, follow up and closure of corrective actions as appropriate. Initially, this position will be located in Shanghai, China to respond to and follow up on quality concerns at the customer's assembly plant locations. Once the new manufacturing location is established (within 3.5 hours of Shanghai), the ideal candidate will then be responsible for design, implementation and administration of all quality functions, including Q1 requirements for Ford and QSB for General Motors and other customer specific requirements.

The ability to work “hands on” with customer quality and manufacturing associates to solve part quality issues.
Excellent communication skills – fluent in Chinese (verbal/written skills) including comprehension and understanding.
Experience with A.I.A.G. Core Tools – APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA, within a Tier 1 Automotive or Manufacturing environment.
Experience assembling, reviewing and approving sample submissions through the PPAP process.
Experience in development and maintenance of PFMEA and process flows
Ability to read and interpret control plans.
Possess working knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, GM's QSB and Ford's Q1 compliance criteria.
Experience using statistics related to quality.
Excellent computer skills, including statistical software such as MiniTab (asset); proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ability to achieve results / targets through others who are not direct reports, particularly at a U.S. headquarters.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness to relocate.
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field with a minimum of eight years related experience.
