Danella Construction Corp. of New Jersey is looking to hire a project manager for gas and electric utility work. The position will report to the Division Manager in our Central NJ office. Summary/Objective The project manager position plans, directs, coordinates and administers activities concerned with the gas and electrical installation of utility construction projects. Participates in the initial development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, safety, purchasing, billing, implementation and closeout. Essential Functions 1. Work with superintendents to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with utility construction projects. 2. Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. 3. Confer with superintendents to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems. 4. Initiate and maintain liaison with utility representatives and subcontractors to facilitate project activities. 5. Monitor and control project through scheduling and job cost control to ensure project is progressing and being performed in accordance with plan. 6. Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings. 7. Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer. 8. Purchase supplies and materials to complete project. 9. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to project team. 10. Complete reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling. Competencies 1. Communication Proficiency. 2. Required Education A four-year degree in engineering or a construction management related field is preferred.
