As our day to day most senior scientific resource, you will be responsible for all facets of designing, implementing and reporting on the company's pre-clinical and clinical research protocols. We are looking for an in-vivo and in-vitro research superstar who has demonstrated both the ability to generate compelling scientific hypotheses, preferably in the tissue engineering area, and the ability to design, implement and manage all phases of pre-clinical and clinical research protocols. The Chief Scientist will be a critical, foundational building block of FesariusTherapeutics. We are looking for a uniquely talented and qualified candidate who wants to be part of a company from the start that can change an industry.
Our Chief Scientist will possess most or all of the following experience and educational requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years’ experience and must demonstrate expertise in cell/vascular biology and bioengineering.
2. Hands-on experience of both in-vitro and in-vivo analytical tools is critical. Desired requirements in this area:
-Demonstrate facility in basic molecular biology laboratory skills such as cell/tissue culture.
-Experience in performing flow cytometry, qPCR and ELISAs; familiarity with various imaging modalities (e.g. confocal, multiphoton microscopy).
-Research experience with microfluidic devices preferred.
-Working knowledge of analytical imaging platforms (e.g. Image J, Matlab).
-Basic small and/or large animal surgical experience.
-Independent experimental design capability and manuscript preparation and have previously published high impact papers as first author.
FesariusTherapeutics intends to further develop the patent-pending microstructure-containing gel scaffold technology for the acellular dermal replacement and wound care markets through the launch of its product family. The first item the company plans to market is a set of engineered tissue scaffold products for the skin and dermal layers. The advancement of such products aim to benefit those with wounds resulting from burns, plastic surgery, tumor removal, and other forms of trauma.
