With an office in downtown Portland, we have a collaborative team that provides traffic and transportation engineering, civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and construction administration with a diverse client base, which includes state, federal, and municipal government agencies and private clients.
Milone & MacBroom, Inc. has an opening for a traffic engineer to join our office located in downtown Portland, Maine.
The traffic engineer will be responsible for data collection and traffic analysis, parking studies, safety studies, and bicycle and pedestrian evaluations. The traffic engineer will prepare technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide range of transportation planning- and traffic engineering-related projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Three to eight years of experience in some or all of the following areas: traffic impact and corridor studies, signal design, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities planning and design
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required
Professional engineer licensure or ability to attain within one year preferred
Demonstrated working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with Microstation and InRoads preferred
Familiarity with MUTCD guidelines and traffic analysis software such as Highway Capacity Software, SYNCHRO and/or VISSM, and GIS
Knowledge of Maine State DOT/FHWA policies and procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills
