The Mannik and Smith Group, Inc., (MSG) a civil, environmental, and geotechnical firm with offices in Ohio and Michigan, has the following opening in its Detroit, Michigan office.
Civil/Site Team Leader: Candidates for this position will be working in a collaborative team environment located in the heart of Detroit’s bustling downtown. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar with 15+ years of experience in civil/site engineering and PE. Must be oriented to fast paced Retail/Commercial Market, have strong communication skills (oral and written) and proficiency at working in a vibrant and multi-faceted team environment. Must show evidence of and high frequency of client/city presentation skills at Council/Plan Commissions. Basic job duties include assisting the design staff in the design engineering and plan preparation (CADD) of Retail, office, commercial, and light industrial projects in a digital environment, performing and checking various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package. Responsibilities include preparing front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans. Experience with industry design standards, guidelines and specifications (e.g, Developer Program Standards, Municipal Site Development Criteria, Storm Water Management Methods, etc.) and knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D required.
