Washington DC-based trade association seeks a Safety & Security professional to perform work related to safety, security, risk and emergency management activities consistent with APTA business plan objectives and APTA members’ requirements. This individual will be responsible for supporting the safety, security, risk and emergency management programs as well as the standards development programs and will be a liaison with government agencies. They will also provide support to committees, workshops, safety audits and peer reviews, as assigned. This individual will handle the ongoing development and management of information and resource tools to support the safety, security, risk and emergency management functions of the Technical Services and Innovation Department.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering or Safety/Security, Risk or Emergency Management-related discipline. Experience in transit management with one or more years in Safety or Security is desired. Experience with auditing is a plus. Successful candidate must have strong project management skills, excellent oral and written communications skills and a passion for providing quality service to APTA’s members.
