Working in an IATF 16949:2016 certified manufacturing environment, the Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support in developing and maintaining Quality Management System process controls capable of satisfying operational and customer requirements. Must have the ability to work with all aspects of the manufacturing process and quality management system, including supplier base, internal operations, and customer requirements.
The Quality Engineer receives complaints from both internal and external customers. Upon receipt, will be able to investigate the problem, make recommendations on resolutions, and communicate such resolution to the customer, whether internal or external, and be able to relate information to Management in a professional and organized manner. The QE will need to follow up on resolution to assure no reccurrence.
Facilitates and performs process capability studies, as required to improve process efficiencies and product conformance.
Administers to improvements in processes, supplier and customer concerns and in-plant ppm beyond the normal day to day quality issues using pareto methods of priorities, AIAG CORE tools, risk management, etc.
Performs PPAP's, APQP, and Control Plan activities, working issues related to the findings with process owners to improve process and product conformance and efficiencies.
Supports all aspects of IATF 16949:2016 based Quality Management System.
Manage GageTrak based calibration system.
Perform internal and supplier audits to IATF 16949:2016 and customer specific requirements.
Prepare reports, and report out findings using available databases, records, and software including: Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, MiniTab, and/or others as needed.
Ability to lead quality procedure and work instruction training in group or individual settings.
Analyze and supports improvement for reductions in scrap and rework through corrective/preventive actions.
Manage non-conformance reports, returned material authorizations, and Material Review Board materials. Processes, and records.
Provide key support to Quality Director.
Other Quality duties as directed by Quality Director or key management members.
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Engineering and/or Quality.
Two or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment.
Experience working in compliance with IATF 16949:2016 standard preferred.
Working knowledge in APQP tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, DOE) preferred.
Knowledge in dimensional gage use preferred.
Print reading skills required.
GDT&T understanding preferred.
Strong ability to work without supervision.
