The Engineering Associate II (EAII) classification is the journey level classification within the Engineering series. These positions are responsible for performing professional and technical engineering work or reviewing plans on assigned projects, such as maintenance and/or transportation capital projects, development related improvement projects, and other infrastructure related projects. The Engineering and Construction Services (ECS) division is responsible for inspections of multi-million dollar transportation improvements projects. The ECS division currently has two openings for EAII's. One of the positions is primarily assigned to civil design duties, and the other is primarily assigned to plan review duties. The Operations (OPS) division is responsible for inspections of development related to road improvements, asset inventory, Right-of-Way permits, emergency response, and contract inspection. The OPS division currently has one opening for an EAII. This position will primarily be assigned to civil design duties.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, surveying, or closely related field; AND
Two (2) years of transportation-related experience applying civil engineering theory, principles, and methods with emphasis on maintenance, plan preparation and review, road and bridge construction, inspection, and/or design review.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements
Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering certificate in Civil Engineering is required.

Washington County is one of just nine Oregon counties operating under home rule charter.
