UTILITIES DIRECTOR, TOWN OF OWEGO
This is important administrative and professional work involving responsibility for directing the maintenance and operation of the municipal water and wastewater systems. Employees in this class are also responsible for environmental and safety compliance as related to water and wastewater systems. This position is provisional subject to passing the anticipated Civil Service test. The position is full time and also requires the Director to be on-call. Salary is based on experience.
Candidates must meet the following EDUCATION AND ADDITIONALREQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study and three (3) years of water and/or sewer maintenance full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent, all of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Technology or related field of study and five (5) years of water and/or sewer maintenance full-time paid experience or its part-time equivalent, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b) and (c) above
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a New York State Grade IIB or higher Water and Grade IVA or higher Wastewater licenses and have a valid driver’s license
