The City of Lubbock seeks a dynamic, resourceful, and customer-focused engineering professional to be its Assistant City Engineer-Development. This position assists the City Engineer with long-range departmental planning concerning policies and projects. This is a highly dynamic, visible position that directly communicates with developers, engineers, consultants, and contractors on a continual basis. The Assistant City Engineer-Development manages a department of 12 personnel that includes three Senior Civil Engineers and five Civil Engineers (or EITs). The operational budget is approximately $1.5 million. The ideal candidate must possess the technical and analytical skills necessary to help the City plan and achieve its infrastructure improvement goals.
The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field and have at least ten years of professional civil engineering experience and ten years of experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer. Additional professional experience must include management experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. The salary for this position is $89,602.24-$139,570.08, depending on qualifications and experience.
