Fire Protection Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems

The function of the Service & Inspection Team Leader is to plan, manage and direct the overall operations of AFPS service and inspection functions at our Fort Walton Beach branch. This includes directing, coordinating, planning, scheduling and expediting of inspections and service orders.
The principle responsibilities of the Service & Inspection Team Leader consist of, but are not limited to:
Plan, manage and direct the operations of the Service and Inspection Teams. This shall include, but not limited to, the inspection, repair and renovation of all types engineered systems, water based fire protection systems and low voltage systems.
Direct, coordinate and supervise scheduling for the expeditious inspection, repair and renovation of all types equipment and systems,
Establish and maintain adequate systems to track and monitor all deficiencies resulting from the efforts of the Inspection Team and quotes for repairs,
Review and distribute all quotations for repairs and renovations to owners, AHJ’s, and other AFPS Team Managers,
Establish long and short term goals, coordinating both internal and external activities to achieve these goals.
Assist in developing and achieving operational goals for each of the work groups reporting to the Service & Inspection Team Leader.
Direct all operations that include system monitoring, including daily review of activity list, courtesy calls to monitoring clients as indicated by the activity list, initiate work orders resulting from courtesy calls.
Maintain all records for system monitoring activities, including renewals and updating subscriber information,
Maintain all after hours emergency system functions, including daily contact with outside agencies involved in receiving calls (answering services, etc.).
Maintain accurate communications with answering services and “on-call” Technicians,
Monitor daily reports of after hours activities and associated tasks, maintain customer contact regarding after hours calls with emphasis on converting to further work orders,
Review all after hours work orders for processing and conversion to invoices for Controller processing and distribution,
Ensure all customer data is maintained in all Company systems,
Enforce all company policies and procedures.
Review for accuracy and content, all reports prepared by subordinates for management.
Prepare all reports as required by the VP of Sales and Operations.
Promote teamwork within the operations group and among other departments within AFPS.
Ensure strict confidentiality of company information
Actively and aggressively participate in training, which includes retaining constant membership of the AFPS Training Committee
Required: High School diploma or equivalent; Two year (2) AA degree or certificate in industrial supervision or engineering. Field experience shall also be considered. Preferred: Four year degree in industrial engineering or operations management.
Licensing / Registration / Certification
Required: Valid Drivers License, NICET II in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Fire Protection Systems
Required: Five (5) years experience in similar industry with two (2) years supervisory experience. Preferred: Seven (7) years experience in similar industry with five (5) years at level of supervision as direct reports.
