Support the engineering and design of marina/dock construction projects by preparing clear, complete and accurate plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches/notes. Assist with evaluation and tracking of contracts and bid specifications, including organization of documents. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the engineering department and requires coordination with other drafting departments in the manufacturing divisions of BMI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to prepare construction and fabrication drawings in accordance with company standards.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Engineers, other Designers, and Project Managers to resolve design issues, develop fabrication methods, and issue construction documents.
Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications to determine project requirements and to establish where potential conflicts may adversely impact the project.
Perform standardized calculations under direction from the Engineering group.
Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to improve the design and construction process.
